This summer I taught porcelain Painting to the kids at a day camp. They ranged in age from 5 to 14. The bird houses were from the dollar store. The kids painted the tops and bottoms. Using stencils they created their own designs on paper then transferred their designs to ceramic tiles, which they then painted with porcelain paints. Once finished the kids broke their tiles, then glued them on the birdhouses.  I grouted the houses for them. I think they turned out great & were fun to paint.
